Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia Lauds Over $9 Million Sate Investment For Imperial Valley Housing Projects

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) is excited to announce that Imperial Valley has procured over $9 million of additional investments toward affordable housing. The California Department of Housing and Community Development has notified Garcia that projects in Calexico and Heber are among the latest to be awarded Joe Serna, Jr. Farmworker Housing Grant (FWHG) Program funding; the Calexico Remington project will receive $4,351,909, and the Heber Del Sol Family Apartments $4,894,682. The FWHG program provides grants or deferred-payment loans for the construction and rehabilitation of housing for agricultural workers and their families.

Controlled Thermal Resources’ Hell's Kitchen Lithium and Power development in the Salton Sea Geothermal Field is located in Imperial County, California, the largest known geothermal resource in the world.
